Michael Baughen

Michael Baughen has the Bible, Music and Writing – running through his veins. From being Ordination Candidates’ Secretary in London, he has led the church of Holy Trinity Platt Lane, in Manchester, followed by London’s All Souls Church in Langham Place – before being made Bishop in the major anglican diocese of Chester. His preaching and convention work has taken him to many countries.

On the music front, Bishop Michael has written many hymns and songs, and for years has headed up to this day a team of composers and writers who first came up with the million-selling Youth Praise, followed by Psalm Praise, Hymns for Today’s Church and Sing Glory. Assisted by Professor Noel Tredinnick he inaugurated the popular Prom Praise musical events that draw thousands to London’s Royal Albert Hall to this day.

He continues to write books, the most recent being The One Big Question (published by CWR), on the question of Suffering - in the face of a loving God.
